Police believe the man created a fake ID using the victim's name and proceeded to open instant credit accounts at several retailers. They say they're still trying to find out how the suspect got the victim's information.

Issue 2018 Nj Cannabis Insider 11 33 October "The suspect in this case somehow got that information and you don't know where he's going to go to next when he's opening up these lines of credit,” Urbana Police Detective Doug Pipkins said. “That's not found out until after the fact, after it's already happened. Until that person is actually caught, if he's caught in the process, that's the only way to really stop him."

The suspect got away with mostly D.J and music equipment. Anyone with information is asked to call Champaign County Crime Stoppers at (217) 373-TIPS.
